A Vision Of Refreshment...Encouragement!

I shared my ONE RESOLUTION earlier this week as a fresh vision for this site.  While RWR will continue to be about bringing women together for the purpose of inspiration and encouragement through our stories,  I resolve to share as much of what I'm learning in my own life here as well.  Not as an expert, but as a learner- humbly.  This will not be an easy task.  Although, having this site may make it appear as though I love attention and have the confidence to step out.  The truth of the matter is,  I don't.  I began very reluctantly, from what I believe was a prompting from the Lord.  It is a challenge each and every time I write.  I've failed in the initial inspiration, because I have a tendency to be a coward.  This year is different.   I can feel it.  I hope you can too.  I'm also hoping that you ladies are resolving right along with me.  You do know that we can change the world around us if we're willing...

Over the past year, I've thought a lot about refreshment and encouragement.   I feel like the Lord has planted a series of seeds concerning this concept in my heart.  It has been confirmed in too many ways to count.  The first seed came in a dream I had on Jan 4th of last year.  I've shared this dream with a small hand full of people, but was very reluctant to share it here.  I began thinking about this dream once again while trying to write the mission statement and vision for the site.  I really think it was meant to be shared here.  Mainly, because immediately after- the morning after to be exact, my feet were literally swept out from under me.  I've spent the last year trying to regain footing.  With the Lords help, I'm steady once again.  I do believe with all my heart this dream was from the Lord.  It was different than any other dream I've had in my life.  I also know that the Lord woke me in the night, months before, and told me He was going to give me dreams.  I woke literally thinking, "wow that was weird".  I know this may sound crazy, and for a good long time, I questioned whether I might be teetering on the edge, but over the course of time, the Lord has been faithful in exactness to the things that He whispered to my spirit.   The Lord is at work in the hearts of His people as He has always been.   I believe He is concerned with His Daughters.   We've always had the ability to influence- from the beginning.   We still have the ability to change the entire course of humanity much like Eve had in the garden.  If ever there was a time in History when the course of humanity need be changed, I believe the time has come.  We were born for such a time as this.   "The hand that ROCKS the cradle rules the world."  I believe this dream speaks the vision of our purpose as women and the results of our failing.  I'd love to know what you ladies think.  The Dream:

I was standing alone in a vastness that is unexplainable.  I looked across the earth and the land for miles around was dried and cracked.  So much so, I'd never seen anything like it.  Nothing living, just cracked earth as far as the eye could see.  It brought to mind the cracked cakes of earth created when the sun dries a puddle quickly in the summer, but larger deeper cracks of earth.  It was unsettling.  Then in the distance an ominous thunderstorm swelled and moved closer.  It was rolling grey and black coming toward me.  I thought to myself that nothing good could possibly happen next.  Then all of a sudden the sun started breaking through and as the storm rolled forward it transformed into something that looked more similar to a summer thunderstorm.  The sun shining through white clouds made it look like a summer day.  Then all of a sudden the rain broke through the clouds, but it looked like it shouldn't be raining at all.  (Now, remember I'm dreaming.)  As the rain fell, almost animated like, green vines started sprouting, twisting, curling, and growth rapidly began everywhere.   This happened before my eyes as it rained, until what was once parched cracked cakes of earth turned into lush green pastures.   Then from behind me a voice spoke.  I never turned around, but I knew it was the Lord immediately.  He said, "This is what women have the ability to do, they have the ability to bring refreshment."   Then I looked up and the horizon was filled with hundreds of women standing on a hillside.  From left to right the women raised their heads from facing the ground, and began smiling almost in a wave like sequence until all of them were standing in the sunshine smiling.  The dream was vibrant and detailed- beautiful.  It was so much more than these few words can capture.  I woke up excited, ready to do something, but I wasn't sure what.  I got up and wrote it down while it was still dark outside.

Each of us has a group of people standing on a hillside.  They are the people who we touch and come in contact with- the people who God has placed in our life.   It is our purpose to bring them refreshment and encouragement.   Let's walk in our purpose this year.  Let's bring refreshment to our families, friends, and neighbors.   We can all do our part to heal this dry, cracked, and barren land.   You know we have the ability to change the world around us if we are willing...

 Just a footnote:
That very day I woke with that dream and the excitement ready to walk out that vision in my life, something happened that literally swept my feet from underneath me.  What happened is not important, but what is important is the realization that Satan comes at us full force when we began to recognize the Lords vision for our life.  I didn't know that then.  I was distracted for almost a year before I recognized it for what it was.   I'm telling you this, because if you have decided to make this resolution with me,   it’s important to recognize the Enemy at work.  You will become a threat when you move into your God given purpose.   Anything, that distracts, offends, steals  joy,  causes confusion, or takes you off course, is assuredly the work of the one that doesn't want to see this vision flourish in your life.   Set your face like flint...

Refreshment:  The state of restoring strength, energy, or vigor.

Let’s start thinking about what this looks like in our lives.

Philippians 4:8

Finally, brethren, whatever is true, whatever is honorable, whatever is right, whatever is pure, whatever is lovely, whatever is of good repute, if there is any excellence and if anything worthy of praise, let your mind dwell on these things.

1 Thessalonians 5:11

Therefore encourage one another and build each other up, just as in fact you are already doing.
Ephesians 4:29

Let no unwholesome word proceed from your mouth, but only such a word as is good for edification
according to the need of the moment, that it may give grace to those who hear.

Proverbs 10:11

The mouth of the righteous is a fountain of life, But the mouth of the wicked conceals violence.

1 Thessalonians 3:2

And we sent Timothy, our brother and God's fellow worker in the gospel of Christ, to strengthen and encourage you in your faith,

Hebrews 10:24

And let us consider how to stimulate one another to love and good deeds..

Hebrews 3:13

But encourage one another day after day, as long as it is still called "Today, " lest any one of you be hardened by the deceitfulness of sin.

I'd love to hear other scriptures that belong here...

Encourage those who are difficult to encourage- they need it the most.

Have a great week!
