Humility

Stay Humble

I heard a song that really ministered to my heart this week- words are so powerful.  It's amazing how God speaks to us...

Humility is key with the Lord. He truly hates pride. I pray no pride will be in my life. Lord help us understand true humility. God saves the humble. To the pure, God shows himself pure. To the merciful, he is merciful! Make our hands clean- make my heart pure Jesus!

Humility says, " I am sorry", but don't make the mistake of just staying in the place of being sorry and defeated.  Move forward and allow God to help you rise up to do His will.

Philippians 1:6
English Standard Version (ESV)
And I am sure of this, that he who began a good work in you will bring it to completion at the day of Jesus Christ.

This is my prayer:

"Show me your way.  Teach me your path and lead me in your truth.   Oh Lord, you are the Way, you are the Path, teaching sinners the way.  In humility you guide injustice.  The humble you teach your ways.
Your Paths oh Lord are mercy and truth.  Your secret is in those who fear you.  You will teach me the way I should go.  You will guide me in the fear of the Lord.  In your presence you will give me rest, you will show me the path of life.  In your presence is fullness of joy and at your right hand pleasures forevermore."

Remember that what we put in our heart through media and books will eventually come out.  Let's choose to put the goodness of God, and His Word, in our hearts- out of this the Lords goodness will flow. My husband taught children's church years ago using a very powerful illustration. He would make brownies using all the good stuff, but before he would put them in the oven, he would add a handful of dirt.  The kids would say, "yuck!".   A little dirt ruines the entire batch of brownies.  What an amazing example.  Pride is like that- it's "yucky".   Adding just a little dirt to the good ingredients renders it "yucky".  We must stay humble before the Lord and continue to read His Word and pray.  He will help us keep the "yuck" out of our lives.

Luke 6:45
English Standard Version (ESV)
The good person out of the good treasure of his heart produces good, and the evil person out of his evil treasure produces evil, for out of the abundance of the heart his mouth speaks.

Proverbs 4:23
Guard your heart for out of it flows everything!!

Another good Word.  Thanks Reba!  Just adding a little bit of amazing... Take the time to listen.  Amazing Grace. ~ Kasse D.
