You are God's Workmanship

I attended "Beautiful Awakening" at Victory Church in Oklahoma City with this group of Beautiful women this weekend. We had an amazing time.

Last Sunday,  I began walking through the mini book: You Are Valuable by the late Billy Joe Daugherty.  We will be distributing these during our missions in Rome. I’d like to explore and share some of my thoughts on the ideas and scriptures in the book from a woman‘s perspective- my perspective. Not because my opinion is worth anything at all, but because I’m learning too. It helps me think about the scriptures as they relate to my life. Hang in there with me, and feel free to call me out, if I am wrong.

You are Valuable= I am valuable.

You are God’s Workmanship= I am God’s workmanship.

Your value isn’t based upon the net worth of your assets and bank deposits or your holdings and investments. Your worth is related to Almighty God! -Billy Joe Daugherty

As a woman, my value is not based on who I know, what I own, or what I wear. My value has nothing to do with my past or how I feel. It is not determined by where I work or my education level. It is not impacted by how many times I have failed or how many times I have succeeded. My value is not even based on how long I have known the Lord. He gave His life for me before I gave my life to Him. -Kasse

Ephesians 2:1-3 (Bible)

And you He made alive, who were

dead in trespasses and sins,

In which you once walked according

to the course of this world, according

to the prince of the power of the air,

the spirit who now works in the sons

Of disobedience,

Among whom also we all once

conducted ourselves in the lusts of our

flesh, fulfilling the desires of the flesh

And of the mind, and were by nature

the children of wrath, just as the others.

Before I gave my life to Christ, I was walking with Satan. I was Satan’s child. I was dead because of my trespasses and sins. When I gave my life to Christ, I was made alive. I owe Him everything. I owe Him my life. - Kasse

Ephesians 2:4-7 (Bible)

But God, who is rich in mercy,

Because of His great love with which

He loved us,

Even when we were dead in

trespasses, made us alive together

With Christ (by grace you have been saved),

And raised us up together, and made

Us site together in heavenly places in

Christ Jesus,

That in the ages to come He might

Show the exceeding riches of His grace

In His kindness toward us in Christ

Jesus.

Because He Loved me, He has shown me mercy. He knew I was a sinner before I existed. He knew I was dead and dying before I even lived. It is because of His kindness, He (Christ) gave His life up for my sins. Because He has risen and lives, I might too. All of this, so that I might be saved by grace through faith in Him. -Kasse

Ephesians 2:8-10 (Bible)

For by grace you have been saved

Through faith, and that not of

Yourselves; it is the gift of God,

Not of works, least anyone should

Boast.

For we are His workmanship, created

In Christ Jesus for good works, which

God prepared beforehand that we

Should walk in them.

I have not done anything to deserve this gift- in fact I don’t deserve. It is His Love for me, and His intrinsic Kindness that brings mercy to my life. I am His work of art, created and saved specifically for His work. - Kasse

Isaiah 49:16 (Bible)

Behold, I have indelibly imprinted

(tattooed a picture of) you on the palm

Of each of My hands…your walls are continually before Me.

He has always had His eyes on me.  He thought of me when His hands were nailed to the cross. He thought of my sin and my life when He allowed them to take His.  He has been thinking of me before I was created.  I am continually in His presence.

Amazing Love.  Have a great week!

We do have a couple of features this week.  Horay!!

  1. Amen! How humbling it is to know I've received the GIFT of grace that I've definitely not earned.

  2. And the Lord God Almighty Jehovah, Creator of the Universe and All Else said, "Kasse, call me Abba."
Every time I say that to myself and use my name...I'm overwhelmed. Made in His image and He says, "Sandra, call me Abba." Now there's something to sink your teeth into!
