Joy filled Women.

Psalm 51:12-13

Restore to me the joy of your salvation and make me willing to obey you. Then I will teach your ways to rebels and they will return to you.

How does our Joy impact others?______________It has the power to turn rebels to him.

Last August, after a series of frustrating encounters, I asked the Lord something very specific, and I desired it with all my heart.

“Lord, where are the women filled with the Joy of the Lord?”
( I have some wonderful joy filled women in my life.  It was just an occasion and rarity that prompt the question)
I wasn’t saying it sarcastically, but just sincerely wanting to know that I was not mistaken in looking for it. He didn’t tell me anything- no still quiet whisper. I drove home in prayer listening for Him- nothing. That was August of last year. Since that evening, the Lord came through in answering my call for this evidence so boldly that it makes me excited to think about His power. He began walking women into my life, one at a time, almost immediately. At first I didn’t recognize it as an answer to my prayer. After my first Joy Encounter, I was so excited. In direction from the Lord, this woman made her introduction. In a nutshell, it was testimony, prayer, encouragement, direction, and Spirit. All of this in less than a 20min. encounter and it wasn’t strange. Then a second, and a third, and a fourth. During the third encounter, I thought to myself, “Where are these women coming from?”. It was then that I remembered my prayer from months earlier. I am amazed.

John 15:7

But if you remain in me and my words remain in you, you may ask for anything you want, it will be granted.

I just finished a week long bible study on Joy as part of a series I’m studying on The Fruit of The Spirit. I’d like to share what I have learned about the Joy of the Lord.

The Origin

Ps. 43:3-4

Send forth your light and your truth, let them guide me; let them bring me to your holy mountain, to the place where you dwell. Then will I go to the altar of God, to God, my joy and my delight.”

Luke 10:17-20

Why were the 72 joyful? According to Jesus, what was their greatest reason for rejoicing?

Re-read the scripture that began this post. Salvation is the source of this joy.

Luke 10:21

At that time Jesus, full of joy through the Holy Spirit, said, “I praise you, Father, Lord of heaven and earth, because you have hidden these things from the wise and learned, and revealed them to little children. Yes, Father, for this was your good pleasure”.

We have Joy through the Holy Spirit.

Matthew 28:8

“The kingdom of heaven is like treasure hidden in a field. When a man found it, he hid it again, and then in his joy went and sold all he had and bought that field.”

Our Joy will cause us to act on his behalf.

1 Thess. 5:16

Always be joyful. Never stop praying. Be thankful in all circumstances, for this is God’s will for you who belong to Christ Jesus. Do not stifle the Holy Spirit.

It’s not a matter of trying. Sure we can fake it, but the Joy of the Lord is deep. It comes from his promise and his presence. The Bible is Gods words written. It is a source of power. Don’t neglect to read it. Then pray for what you need in him and he will answer. The surprise is his Joy!!!!
