Connecting, Sharing, and Strange Things

Although in cartoon format, much more difficult than it seems. If you are here for the first time, do go read our first blog post to see what we are all about. I know I keep saying this, but I want people to understand what is happening here. I don’t want it to be confusing.

Ok. Now, I am going to get a little bit weird on you for just a minute. I have an unbelievable weird side, but I keep it in check regularly. We were working on our vision last night, and tossing around ideas. I had tweeted a friend on ideas and advice. So, in the middle of our brain session, a re-tweet came via my phone. At the heart of the advice was, “it needs to be a soul thing”. I shared this, went home, and went to bed. Woke up at 4am remembering this dream: Group of women in a spinning car. I could hear individual prayers from them, as the car spun to a stop. It landed in the front yard of a tiny white farm house that had a tiny strip, maybe three doors, of dilapidated apartments. Very sweet and old fashion. A small worn woman came out to help us, and invited us in. Once in the house, it was clear she was alone. The home was very empty and sad, no color or decoration. I noticed movement of loose plastic from repairs she had tried to make. There were perfectly cut pieces of plastic of all sizes held in place with too many staples all over the inside of her home. I realized she was trying to fix things by herself, because she didn’t have anyone, and didn’t want to bother anyone. At that point, I was filled with the overwhelmingness of what she was feeling: alone, lonely, helpless, separated , angry, scared, sad, longing. Then all of a sudden, I knew the inside of her house was her soul, and it was in this condition because she was alone and isolated. This dream is missing some vague details, as dreams do upon waking, but I woke up, and thought through it all. I decided to write it down. I started thinking about how starting Rural Women Rock has liberated me, given me energy and excietment, and connected me with ladies from all over the U.S. It is like having new breath in you. I want to share that experience. I want to teach people to share their story. What are you doing? Starting a new business, tell us how. Learning something, teach us. Going through a divorce, let us help. Finding God, show us. Like fashion, help us. Raising your kids, I am too. Traveling, take us with you. Farming, inform us. Creating, inspire us. You have something to give that someone may truly need. You have a voice that needs to be added to the collective to represent who we are. Its scary I know. I had the rare opportunity to go to get connected, but not all of us can leave our daily lives to meet new people and learn new things. I may not get to again for sometime, but now I’m connected, so I have the life line, and so can you. I read an article the other day about how having a blog boosts your immune system among other things. I want to boost your immune system. I want to get you excited, and get you on board. I am helping 5 people this weekend start a blog. I will share this experience next week. If you want to be one of them, or need help, email me! I’ll get you hooked up! This is going to be fun!
